The project that was identified in section 3.9 is "Why I want to go to California for my homestate?" I chose this topic to write about because when I first arrived at California in Los Angeles I thought it was beautiful. It was'nt a big culture shock to me because California looked a little bit like Oregon or Washington where I have lived many years ago. I loved the shopping centers that they have like Southcoast Plaza and outdoor malls. I also enjoyed the food there at restaurants which were not so expensive like Alaska. The weather was hot but bearable. The beaches were nice although I haven't set barefoot on the water. The houses in Los Angeles were amazing. I had the chance to go to Hollywood and walk on the sidewalk filled with many celebrity stars. Everything went well when I was in Los Angeles, California for a vacation except for the terrible sunburn I had that almost spread my whole body during the vacation. I'm thinking, next time that I do go to California, I will go to a tanning bed and get tanned before the trip.

My study habits is not the greatest like anybody else is. Usually, when I try to study I would read the book I'm studying for and concentrate on what they are trying to get across. But of course I would forget alot of things I am suppose to remember and my method is not the greatest. But I found a different method of studying and that is writing information down that is important on index cards. This, I think, is the best method for me because it forces me to understand what I'm writing on the index card. I try to read it over and over until I understand fully which unfortunately takes a lot of time because I do process things slowly. Studying can be fun if the right tools for studying works for you. I would still like to find other ways to study better and how it can help me. I am in a class, which is Excel, that at the tenth week I am to take the Microsoft Excel test. Before taking it I should look into studying the "Measure Up" study guide. I heard good things about the study guide and hope it will help me with studying for the Excel test.

I choose a supervisor at my workplace to write about ethos. This supervisor is not my supervisor at my department but he is substituting for my original department supervisor who is out of town for a while. The substituting supervisor is quiet but talkative. He seems like an ethos. He supervises very well and usually asks about how our department is doing and asks us a lot of questions about suggestions as to how to do a job. He supervise jobs that need to be done like for example, moving the vacuum cleaners to a middle isle of the store so that the construction workers can take apart the carpeting that is on vacuum department's floor. He does get a little upset when something goes wrong and curses a litte bit and sometimes he can be a little sarcastic. He also seems exhausted or overwhelmed about the project when there seems like there is alot that needs to be done, which is understandable.

I read the chapters 1-3 from the Informed Argument on argumentation and viewed that there were alot of propaganda in the three chapters. I liked the ad for the philadelphia cream cheese that reads "so light, so heavenly". Right below the tub of cream cheese is a feather indicating how light it is. I like the coloring they use in the ad. The colors blend so well and the ad is so understandable that it attracts the viewer. It makes me want to buy the cream cheese and lose weight from eating it. There is also the ad about "tommy girl" perfume. It has a logo, "a declaration of independence". The bottle of perfume is laid on a flag. It has a sense that if you buy the perfume it is good for the U.S. It is an attractive ad that will attract any female consumers and more likely that they will buy the perfume because it is made in the U.S.

Today, the weather seems very relaxing. It is cloudy and at the point of getting some sprinkles of rain. I was planning to go jogging around my neighborhood but I think it is best that I go jogging on my treadmill at home. I am beginning to enjoy jogging, walking, or any physical activity. They are helping me to stay fit, healthy, and happy. When I am done with Advanced Discourse class, I think I will rent a movie. There is one movie I would like to see. It is a movie with Jennifer Garner playing a woman who lost her fiance one day and later on she has a relationship with a man who is a friend of her late fiance. I don't know anymore information about the movie but I can't wait to find out. I don't know what I should eat for dinner. I would always wonder about that. Usually I would go home and eat Korean food that my mother makes. My mother is the best cook at making Korean food, in my opinion. I have told her to quit her day job and work as a cook at a Korean restaurant. She is that good. Korean food is mostly vegetables and is very nutritional especially raw vegetables like pickled kimchi and other pickled raw vegetables. Some of the Korean food is very hot and spicy, so a glass of water is very essential to keep in hand.

When I was in high school, I never liked writing. I did well in writing that time but I never enjoyed it. I was very stressed when I had to do an essay because I wanted to get an "A" on the paper and I was worried that I would get a lower grade. When I would get a "B" on a paper I had to write in an English class, I would feel like a failure. It is because I worked so hard on the paper that I was certain I would get an "A". I always have to think carefully and organize my thoughts on paper. Sometimes it can be tedious because thinking too hard makes my head ache and it feels like I'm pulling teeth. But now that I'm in college, writing papers is becoming easy and relaxing. It doesn't seem to be aggravating and boring but a lot of fun and exciting. Now a days, I'm doing well in writing papers at college. In fact I'm getting "A's" on all my papers that I had to write so far. I did'nt have to think so hard, I'm more relaxed, and I'm actually like writing. Maybe someday I can write a book....
